Mark Harrison retired from the women’s apparel industry after 30 years. Retirement was not something Mr. Harrison could deal with comfortably so he sought out a way to assist people his own age with medical issues. Having a moderate hearing loss himself, Mr. Harrison contacted a well known hearing aid dispensing company in 1998 and secured a position as a hearing aid dispenser. He took the extensive courses to secure a Hearing Aid Dispensers license in the state of Maryland. He was granted an active State of Maryland Hearing Aid Dispensing license in August 1999, and then made applications to be licensed in the State of Delaware, in December of 1999.
Mr. Harrison became a member of the International Hearing Society in September 1999. In May of 2002, Mr. Harrison took the necessary courses to become Nationally Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences ( NBC-HIS) Certification # 5890.
As the years unfolded, computerized hearing equipment came to the industry, Mr. Harrison took an extended 18 month course in Audioprosthology (ACA). Mr. Harrison was given a certificate of completion in 2002.
Mr. Harrison, knowing ethics are the basis of handling the population, took a CEU class in ethical issues of Clinical Practice, Overview of Board Statute and Regulations, held at the University of Maryland in May 2009.
Mr. Harrison, holds himself to the highest standards of excellence in his practice. He has the compassion and understanding needed for auditory rehabilitation and hearing health care. The staff of International Hearing Systems, LLC must adhere to the same standards.
